Made for the 1993 fundraising campaign to save Alvar Aalto's Library in Viipuri.
This work of art, created by Pesce, is a vision of the well-known masterpiece of the Modern Movement. The distorted shape symbolizes the present poor condition of the library. The sculpture is made of flexible polychrome resin, and produced in a series of 700 numbered pieces, out of which 100 are signed by the artist. Each numbered item is an individual work of art and differs from all the others in form and colour.
Limited Edition No. 169 of 600 (Marked on bottom).
Box with accompanying image/text (in English), 10 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 1 3/4", and polychrome resin sculpture, 9 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 1 1/2". Box in Good condition with some shelf wear, Sculpture in Pristine condition.
